The Emergency Room at Suburban provides a full range of emergency medical services to people of all ages from Erie and Niagara counties. As a result of the hospital's recently completed $64 million expansion, the department has almost tripled in size and features all private patient rooms with phones and flat screen TVs, additional trauma rooms, a more spacious and comfortable waiting room, and new, state-of-the-art technology.
Simply put, our Emergency Room is bigger, better and FASTER! We offer: Board certified emergency medicine physicians, and specially trained nurses providing comprehensive care to more than 40,000 patients of all ages each year.
Between the hours of 1pm and 1am, there is a "fast track" area within the ER, which is where patients with less severe injuries and illnesses are treated. Fast track has helped to reduce the congestion within the ER at peak times.
The emergency medicine staff, whose physicians are also trained in pediatrics, not only provides the highest quality of care; they do so in a professional, compassionate, and respectful manner.
Several Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners are on staff who are specially trained in forensic examination of sexual assault victims and have passed the rigorous certification exam.
